Golfo di Baratti

The Gulf of Baratti is a small basin located between the Ligurian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea, in the municipality of Piombino, Livorno.

Near the Gulf, there are residues of the Etruscan period, including a certain presence of iron waste, part of the work of that period.

The backdrop of the Gulf of Baratti waters are low and colored between golden and amber, its beach is sandy and in some places there is a beautiful pine forest characterized by the presence of maritime pine trees and numerous shrubs of the Mediterranean, beyond that to many other types of vegetation.

At the end of the 80s, a wreck with traces of medicines used in the ancient Roman era was found near the gulf.
