Terme di Petriolo

The Petriolo thermal baths, also known as petriolo baths, are located in the “Valle dell’Ombrone”, on the border between the province of Siena and the province of Grosseto.

Its waters flow at a temperature of about 43° C and can be used both freely that in any equipped facilities.

This Tuscan thermal fountainhead has been known since the times of the ancient Romans, mentioned even in an oration by Cicero and in thermal vicinity some remains of both Roman and Etruscan times have been found.

The greatest prestige of the Petriolo Thermal baths was during the Renaissance period, so much so that both members of the Medici family and the Gonzagas, as well as Pope Pius II, went there.
